  • In any hand with a Jack, unless of course the hand is already a winner! – 4 to an open-ended Straight, four into a Flush or three to a Straight Flush or Royal Flush – reject all cards only keeping the Jack
  • In any hand with only one card Jack or better, maintain the single great card and refuse all other cards and redraw.
  • In any hand holding 1 pair less than than Jacks, preserve the pair and reject all other cards – unless the hand is 4 to some Straight or 4 to some Flush
  • In any hand with a two-pair, hold both pair and reject the odd-card.
  • In any hand holding 3-of-a-kind retain the three-of-a-kind and refuse the other two cards.
  • In any hand holding 4 with a Straight, hold all four Straight cards and re-draw – unless the Straight draw is not open-ended and the hand is with a Jack)
  • In any hand having 4 with a Flush, preserve the four Flush – unless the hand holds three to the Royal in which case you would draw to the Royal Flush
  • In any hand with four-of-a-kind, hold anything since a 1-card draw won’t increase the cards.
  • In any hand with three with a Royal Flush, reject anything else and go for that Royal – unless the hand is already a Sraight Flush!

Practice these methods whist betting – perhaps even use to refer to the Basic Video-Poker methods until they become second nature. Go on …obtain the ability and hit those video poker machines!
