Video Poker is a beloved game that can be played in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your PC, through an Internet account. The rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the greatest mixture of cards possible in order to win cash. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A five card hand will be "handed out" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and bettors will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the enthusiast has decided on which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be needed they will be dealt. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Typically, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can range from game to game, so that knowledgeable gamblers are able to select the most profitable game each time.
After the first round has played out, the player can either choose to remain on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that has been won. Additionally, several versions of the game give the player an opportunity to double their wins, in which situation another hand is played. There are also variations between individual games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
